MICROCASSETTE FINAL(!) - Rev Engineered Milestone Project

It's week four! That means we have a real life model! I'm so excited at how this turned out!!

This milestone project was a heavy focus on recreating objects to scale using tools and skills learned during class. My object of choice was a microcassette that had come with an old tape recorder I found at an antique store. My biggest challenge with this project was definitely keeping myself invested, I have a very bad habit of starting off with a ton of energy and then as soon as I learn the skills well enough I have a hard time staying focused through the tedious and methodical parts. I had some minor measuring discrepancies that were sort of noticeable once I put the parts together, which was super frustrating and also a major pain to fix. That being said, I'm glad I rode the struggle bus for awhile because my render turned out sick. All in all this project seemed waaaaaaay more daunting than it really was, it's actually super impressive how much you can do with so few commands. Things that make me look really impressive with semi-skill 400% make it to the top of my list, so with that said please enjoy this funky cassette!

Also, rip my computer with these renders. I know it can take some time but dang 10 hours for one render? I wish I had that extra time lying around. (These are screenshots for now, but I'm going to update the post with the final images as the renders complete - currently still sitting at 7 hours for the first one lmao)

oh my god literally the second I finished typing that I tried to open Rhino to check where she was at and accidentally closed the render window.......................... I'm............................. yeah ok so please accept these shitty screenshots for the time being
